Kimberly & Austin: Kingwood, TX Wedding Photography

We all know that when it rains it pours… apparently I was playing catch up when I was suppose to be posting Kimberly & Austins wedding to the blog! I mean… they only got married 2 months ago! I DID post them on facebook for them… but never got around to posting them here! SHAME ON ME! (There is a good reason though…)

The first time I met Kimberly was for her bridal shoot… She seemed a little nervous… as with most brides… and rightfully so… (I mean, who stands around in a dress and takes pictures all day?) but I promise you this… after about 2 minutes… she was ONE spunky little firecracker!!I knew immediately this girl was full of LIFE… and someone I was going to love working with.  She was a BLAST, she was stunning, and she had her own style… and she brought it all!

Maybe you don’t understand… let me share a short story!  An amazing friend of mine… Julie-I adore this woman and sincerely wish Cali was a hop, skip and a jump away from Texas!  This is the Julie who is currently keeping my home in California… warm and cozy awaiting my return!… sorry… got off topic.  (Seriously, I am the only person who can talk about one thing 2 hours ago… and continue the story 2 hours later after talking about 15 other things.  I feel sorry for the people who have to keep.up.with.me!) ha!

So… Julie, being full of wisdom…  said this one day… “Lacy, there are two types of people you can have in your life.  Zappers… or Sappers!”  Sappers drain all of your energy.  We all know them… We try to fix them… but no matter how hard we try… its exhausting and you are left feeling drained.  Then you have zappers!! Now… Zappers make you want to live life to the fullest…

That kind of ZAP!

Now Kim… SHE is a ZAPPER! You can’t help but smile in her presence and laugh with her contagious laugh.    It is no wonder her husband absolutely adores her entirely.   And from the night of the wedding… it is safe to say that everyone who knows her adores her.

Then we have Austin!  Now this guy…is head over heals-crazy in love with his bride…  It took about .007583 seconds to see how much he cherishes her.  He doesn’t take her for granted.  He appreciates her.  He makes her feel like she is the most beautiful girl in the world.  Did.you.catch.that? He doesn’t just TELL her… he makes sure she FEELS it.  Austin goes out of his way to make SURE she undoubtedly knows he is just absolutely crazy about her.  It’s very simple.   Their love is SWEET.  And being able to capture that… is oh-so-rewarding!

Sorry for the run-on blog post… but the “good reason” I didn’t post this sooner… is because I wanted to share their story… without missing anything.  Their day was so sweet!  From the embroidered initials on Kims wedding dress in memory of her mother… to Austin’s dad holding up an iPhone with a “how to tie a tie” instructional video… Kim’s dad turning around to see her for the first time before she walked down the aisle (I mean hello! I could hardly take pictures because I was crying too!)…  the ‘high five’ her dad gave as he walked his little girl down the aisle.   (I guess we will always be our daddy’s little girl…)… to the way Austin danced with her… as if they were the only two people in the room…   These are just a few of the sweet moments that day.

Kim and Austin, I feel truly blessed to have been a part of your day.

It was truly special.
