In 2006 I was sitting in a pedicure chair getting my toes done!
This (tall) girl (Carly) was sitting next to me… and my friend Claire who is also like 9′ tall was sitting on the other side… There I sat right between them… in all of my 5’6″ glory! HA! I think I mentioned something about wishing I was taller so I didn’t have to stand on my tip toes when I take pictures… We started talking about photography and Carly told me that her roommate who was getting married… Within a few weeks her roommate called and asked if she could see some work! I remember saying YES! Before I actually knew how that was going to happen… ha! You see, I didn’t even really have a website! So when she asked if she could come see some of my work… I invited her into my 800 sq. ft. duplex I had been living in since college… I led her into my room…and sat her on my IKEA bold multicolored checkered comforter! (How unprofessional!… I know..I’m cringing too!) Haha! Anyway… she booked me as her photographer! I NEVER in a million years would have thought that the pedicure chance meeting would result in a life-long friendship! In 2006 I photographed Tara & Michaels Engagement and Tara’s Bridal portraits. In 2007 I photographed her wedding and a post-wedding session. In 2007 (or 2008) I can’t remember exactly…I photographed her puppy… A pug named Cupcake!
In 2008 I photographed her family… and NOW without further ado… here is Tara & Michael’s Maternity session!!Thank you for trusting me 4 years ago… It has been an honor being a part of all of these little milestones in your life!! CONGRATULATIONS!! I will forever be grateful for that pedicure!
**Edited to add… ALL of this started in 2005… Tara just corrected me! haha I can’t believe I got my years messed up!! Also, the last few pictures were taken at The Chocolate Bar… SO much fun… if you have never been…. you must go!**

Debbye Crosby - That pedicure led to me seeing Tara’s wedding pictures in the secretary’s office at Lumberton Middle School. I asked Teresa (Tara’s mom) who took the pictures and she gave me Tara’s number so that I could get your phone number. After talking to Tara, she agreed to be Kristin’s wedding coordinator and you agreed to shoot her engagement and weddings photos. I would say the rest is history, but 2 years later you shot Kaella’s engagement and wedding photos, too. You are an amazing photographer and so easy to work with.
