Haleakala Crater Sunrise!
So we woke up at something like the butt crack of dawn.. Really. Not kidding. 3:30am to be exact to make it to this sunrise … This trek up Haleakala Crater has 89-100 turns (thanks to Lizzy’s mom for counting in a magazine) No WONDER I got sick! Ha! (I’m laughing now… was NOT laughing then. TRUST ME) So we arrive to the top of the crater… and it is F R E E Z I N G. I am not kidding. I was in flip flops.. and a t shirt. Hello! I didn’t pack for FREEZING! I packed for SUNNY! ha! I promise you… if it started raining, I’m pretty sure it would have started snowing. Side note: After 45 minutes of taking pictures…I realize that my PANTS WERE UNBUTTONED and UNZIPPED the entire time! PERFECT! (When I got sick I unbuttoned my pants…and totally forgot- I’m a genius!) Whats even worse…is I was so cold…so had my pants actually fallen down… I don’t even think I would have known… except for the people who would have been staring at me thinking I must have lost my mind!

(Same photo-original edit)

See that little yellow diamond? This would have been why I got sick driving.

Here are just a few of the seven (Yes, 7) Rainbows we saw the FIRST DAY we got here!

There is something about the silhouette of a bare tree against the clouds or against the sunrise. I heart this! And the simplicity of it … makes it one of my favorites!

THIS is my favorite so far! It just isn’t your typical Hawaii photo… and I love everything about it!
