You guys are all a blessing!! Thank you for making this year amazing!!

Happy New Year!!!

Terry… your face when you saw her walking toward you… PRICELESS! And Jenna… The tears that flowed down your cheeks just about made me lose it… It is so good to see you so happy! Love you guys!

Several months ago… I got a wedding inquiry from this utterly fabulous woman… We clicked instantly via email and phone…  we set up a meeting at Starbucks… (and get this…) it was in a KROGER!! haha! First time for everything!  I had NO Idea the starbucks was actually IN the grocery store… but what the heck! Ha! It made for some laughs!! (Clean-up on aisle 3!)  Four hours later I packed up and we left… Ah! I will remember that meeting for ever! LOL… I don’t think I’ve laughed so much for so long… ever! Such good times!!  A few weeks later I met Katherine and Matt again for dinner… along with her parents… and I knew instantly why I loved Katherine so much!  Obviously where she gets it from.  When I finally met Matt’s parents… there was no surprise there either!  Two dynamic families coming together… Fantastic!

Katherine’s family is from England… so we took the journey over seas for their wedding… And what a journey it was!!  I wanted to share a little bit of the behind the scenes… because it makes the story that much sweeter… & shows how absolutely incredible this couple is…

Katherine, Matt and Katherine’s family headed over 8 days before the wedding… After a long 9.5 hour flight… while going through customs they were told they couldn’t enter the country to get married!! WORST. NIGHTMARE. come true…  After being finger printed… and mug shots were taken… they were flown 4 hours later BACK to the States… where they had to get married in the basement of a judges office.. and then fly right back with proof they were married… and were not coming to the country to get married any longer!

WHAT!!

Absolute… CRAZINESS!

I flew to England on Monday… and for the second time in 4 days… so did Katherine and Matt!  The wedding was on Thursday so everything was okay! That week was incredible… The ceremony was beautiful…the reception was a BLAST… and I am so sad it is already over!  But the Bonus is… I have gained friends and experiences I will never… ever forget… and I feel absolutely honored to capture such a special day for two very special people.

The Bath Priory Hotel

After knowing the events that took place earlier in the day… you can understand why I got so excited when this little lady bug landed on Katherine’s dress!
And then…apparently when I carried the dress back…the lady bug stayed… and while I was doing Katherine’s make-up (Multi-tasker! ha!) it landed on her! Loved that!Matt… You are so handsome… Ladies… he’s taken… obbbbviously! This may be my favorite bride-getting ready-picture. ever.  Sexy and Elegant!

I just about LOST it at this moment… And looking at these makes me just about lose it again!  This is why I’m a photographer… capturing moments like THIS.  To be remembered by children and grandchildren and great grandchildren…

This is what I call the Tebow Thinking man!!… hahaha!I’m obviously VERY funny. This was so great! We were shooting and this sweet puppy ran up and hung out for about 10 minutes! He wanted to be in the pictures so he made a debut! And the fence they hiked to get those shots! The things people will do when they trust you!! (And I am SO thankful!)

The Royal Crescent: Bath, England

Ohhh I die!! Favorite!Something about this picture makes me love it a little more every time I see it…Night time cobblestone pictures in England? Yes, Please!!This picture makes me miss you guys!  Your laugh is contagious!Matt used to play baseball for the Cardinals… hence the grooms cake! Complete with Lexy!! (Their dog!)During dinner I had a chance to go into the kitchen… and document award winning chef Michael Caines in his artistry… It was like watching Hell’s Kitchen! Chaos and Greatness all at once! Ha!Another moment when I LOST it… The picture on the left is Katherine’s brother… and that was while he was watching her dance with her dad… I was masking my tears with my camera! Annnnd I may or may not have cried during this moment too… How could you not?
Hahaaa! I may have cried here too…from laughing so hard!  Too funny!  Katherine: “Hand to forehead” hahaha!They don’t have S’mores in England… but they will now! haha! SUCH a great late night snack idea!!

*A note to all brides! haha! Your day will inevitably not be a smooth-sailing ball of perfection… BUT… it is however… YOU’RE day… and it will be amazing because of that.  Don’t let the little stresses keep you from enjoying YOUR sweet moments!*  I don’t know if I would have handled 30 hours of flying within 4 days as well as Katherine did… but thankfully most of us do NOT have to go through that… And now… well… It’s a great stinkin’ story!  And they’ve now married their best friend… twice.

I’m starting with the bridal brunch at the Pump Room..It overlooked the Roman baths… it had tall ceilings and was adorned with the most beautiful chandeliers… Amazing! The background of this shot is the Bath Abbey!

TThen we met up for dinner later that night… (just the “kids” haha) at the Hall and Woodhouse.. What a fun place! The atmosphere was warm and cozy! Such a fun to decompress and hang out before the festivities toward the end of the week!  I loved everything about this place… the candlelit tables…the chandeliers… the ceilings.. So beautiful!

The Rehearsal Dinner:  Ahhh We were told to arrive at this wine shop… We pulled up and were not quite sure if we were in the right place…it looked a little like a warehouse… When we walked in…I was BLOWN…Away… The bottles of wine… and vintage wine… were everywhere! The hor dourves were creatively set up all over the room on wine barrels… It was phenomenal! One of the reasons I love destination weddings so much is that I get to really document every moment for them… *Love*

Katherine and Matt gave their fathers custom made cufflinks! What a special way to remember their day by! LOVED the thoughtfulness behind these gifts. They will treasure them forever!Stay tuned for Part 2!

Something so magical about that carousel!My first crepe ever…was at the Eiffel Tower in 2007… I loved that they stopped to taste a little bit of deliciousness!
