PINIMAGEOh my goodness, where do I begin?? Ahh…Yes…Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinders … Well, let me get back to that… That deserves it’s own paragraph. 😉 When Megan booked us for her wedding she told me she really wanted to have her engagement session in Chicago… and I thought..Chicago?! AWESOME!! I had been a couple of times before…and have even done a photoshoot there…. but its been YEARS since then…and I was so excited to shoot somewhere other than in an open field in hot and humid Houston, Tx!  (No offense… I like my fields too…I just was craving something different! And this was all kinds of different for sure!)

Okay…Now about Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinders… we met up the night before the shoot and had dinner there… This is not your typical Chicago pizza place… but if you want something you’ve NEVER had before… and I mean…really I had never had anything like it before… then this is the place to go… Get there early to avoid a 4 hour wait…I think our wait was only 1.5 hours (only!..thats impressive for this place, trust me)… We shared the best table-sized greek salad and Mediterranean bread… and each had our personal pizza…(which is sort of like a pizza pot pit…but they turn it upside down so your bread is your bowl and the pizza-cheesy-goodness is the filling! We had great conversation and great food…in a great city…One of the best nights!!

Fast forward to a 4 am. wakeup call and we taxi’d over to the Planetarium where the most exquisite sunrise was about to happen… Then Megan and Roger get there…and the scene was just like it was out of a movie! *Swooning over here!* LOOK at her DRESS! and her SHOES! And her HAIR and his SUIT…and…the list goes on! It was just…perfect! (A HUGE thanks to Nevsy for doing hair and makeup by the way…She was a lifesaver since our prior evening shoot was moved to sunrise!)  After sunrise we romped all over the city… and ended at the beach!

After our shoot we went to brunch at this cute little place called Beatrix…and had the best time…their pastries were delicious…and I think we sat there and talked for 2 hours before Scott and I had to catch a flight home… If we could have stayed an extra couple of days to hang out with these guys we would have!!

Megan and Roger…we had a BLAST with y’all!! We are so excited to capture your sweet day! It will be here before we know it, for sure!! xoxo

Roger packed them in Megan’s suitcase before they left without her knowing…so when they got to Chicago and she opened her suitcase she found them and was SO shocked!! Best fiancé award winner right there!PINIMAGEOh! And they got engaged in that super tall building right behind them in the photo on the right! Eeeek! Such good memories!!

What is more romantic than an outdoor wedding in the rain? Not much!  *Swoon* If you look up the word “true love” or… you would see a picture of these two… You can be around them for 2 seconds and love radiates off of them… *Swoon*  Bonni is the sister of a friend and fellow photographer, Haley… When she got engaged Haley obviously wanted to be a part of her sisters special day…and not from the documenting standpoint… She referred me and I am completely humbled and honored to have been asked to document something so incredibly special and so incredible to witness.  THIS was a one of a kind wedding… and I don’t mean because it rained the entire day. Ha!  I mean…Their love is a unique and special kind of love… Those who know them know exactly what I’m talking about. So many happy tears were shed… What a priceless day!! Bonni and Anthony… You guys are unstoppable! Scott and I LOVED spending your special day with you!! I hope you are enjoying your honeymoon!! 😀 xoxoxo

  • Bonni - Lacy, you and Scott did such an amazing job on our wedding! You captured the romance and emotion perfectly, and I love the way you have put the photos together here. I’m so excited to see us here on the blog!!

I first met Lauren while shopping at a clothing store 4 years ago.  We got to talking and somehow my career came up… and we connected on Facebook… She said one day you will shoot my wedding… Four years later… that day came!!  I am SO glad to have celebrated her special day with her and her love!  I love Lauren to bits for several reasons… One being… She gives the BEST blooper faces…haha! Maybe she will let me post some in a separate post! 😉 Some others being… She is a genuinely thoughtful person… She makes some amazing pudding shots!  She is hilarious… annnnd they have their own style…(so no cookie cutter wedding here! Just check out the purple and teal tulle under her dress!) 😉 She is a Disney fanatic… They are even going there for their honeymoon…and incorporated cute Disney themed table numbers for her reception.. AND they dress up for Ren Fest! AND…they had a cocktail at the wedding called “Mermaid water”… and it was turquoise and deeeelish!  Lauren and Angel.. You guys are amazing!! I am so excited for dinners and ren fest weekends and the list goes on! xoxoxoPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEWedding Venue: The Springs Event Venue
