PINIMAGEOh my goodness, where do I begin?? Ahh…Yes…Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinders … Well, let me get back to that… That deserves it’s own paragraph. 😉 When Megan booked us for her wedding she told me she really wanted to have her engagement session in Chicago… and I thought..Chicago?! AWESOME!! I had been a couple of times before…and have even done a photoshoot there…. but its been YEARS since then…and I was so excited to shoot somewhere other than in an open field in hot and humid Houston, Tx!  (No offense… I like my fields too…I just was craving something different! And this was all kinds of different for sure!)

Okay…Now about Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinders… we met up the night before the shoot and had dinner there… This is not your typical Chicago pizza place… but if you want something you’ve NEVER had before… and I mean…really I had never had anything like it before… then this is the place to go… Get there early to avoid a 4 hour wait…I think our wait was only 1.5 hours (only!..thats impressive for this place, trust me)… We shared the best table-sized greek salad and Mediterranean bread… and each had our personal pizza…(which is sort of like a pizza pot pit…but they turn it upside down so your bread is your bowl and the pizza-cheesy-goodness is the filling! We had great conversation and great food…in a great city…One of the best nights!!

Fast forward to a 4 am. wakeup call and we taxi’d over to the Planetarium where the most exquisite sunrise was about to happen… Then Megan and Roger get there…and the scene was just like it was out of a movie! *Swooning over here!* LOOK at her DRESS! and her SHOES! And her HAIR and his SUIT…and…the list goes on! It was just…perfect! (A HUGE thanks to Nevsy for doing hair and makeup by the way…She was a lifesaver since our prior evening shoot was moved to sunrise!)  After sunrise we romped all over the city… and ended at the beach!

After our shoot we went to brunch at this cute little place called Beatrix…and had the best time…their pastries were delicious…and I think we sat there and talked for 2 hours before Scott and I had to catch a flight home… If we could have stayed an extra couple of days to hang out with these guys we would have!!

Megan and Roger…we had a BLAST with y’all!! We are so excited to capture your sweet day! It will be here before we know it, for sure!! xoxo

Roger packed them in Megan’s suitcase before they left without her knowing…so when they got to Chicago and she opened her suitcase she found them and was SO shocked!! Best fiancé award winner right there!PINIMAGEOh! And they got engaged in that super tall building right behind them in the photo on the right! Eeeek! Such good memories!!
